Time for another monthly makeup favourites post! This month is all about the glow. I cannot get enough!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid “Opal” (here)
This little gem was part of a Becca trial set I got a couple of months ago in New York. Becca’s liquid highlighter is smooth, opaque without being too thick and stays on the skin all day long. It gives you that lit-from-within look everyone craves and the peachy golden colour “Opal” adds something special to your face. I like using mine on the top of my cheekbones after applying foundation. I then put a powder highlighter on top, to set everything in place. If you are looking for a liquid highlighter that can be used all over the face for priming as well as on top of makeup, look no further – Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector is the way to go!

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine “09 Nude in Private” (here)
Growing up I always used to watch my grandma putting on lipstick. I remember her using a beautiful bullet, that was gold and pink and looked incredibly luxurious. Thinking back, it might have been a YSL lipstick, which is why I couldn’t wait to get my own when I was older. The colour I love is a peachy nude. The formula is sheer, glossy and hydrating. It doesn’t last too long on the lips but it is easy to reapply without a mirror and also looks great on top of a matte lipstick. The scent is very sweet and floral and lingers for a while. If you have a sensitive nose, maybe this isn’t the one for you.

Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter (here)
I am completely addicted to glowy liquid highlighters and primers. Whenever I find a new one, I have to have it. There are even two in my makeup favourites this month! I got the Seventeen Highlighting Primer last year at the drugstore in London and have been enjoying it again recently. There is no need to always go for the expensive option! It is quite a thick liquid that can be used before or after foundation application, much like the Becca Opal one. This is probably the glowiest product I have ever tried – it makes you glow in the dark 😉 Sadly, this is only available in the UK but Boots does ship internationally now!

MAC Sheertone Blush “Blushbaby” (here)
How many times have I mentioned Blushbaby now? I think it is the third time in a month (oops). After being on my wish list for a long time, I finally bought it last month (see my HAUL here). This is my first MAC blush and it certainly won’t be my last one. The pigmentation is perfect – not too much but also not too sheer – and it stays on all day without getting blotchy. The colour is a beautiful pink with a hint of mauve and goes with most makeup looks.

Dior Diorskin Nude BB Cream (here)
I bought this BB Cream last year after it being praised online. An alternative name for this would be “dewy, fresh skin in a bottle”. Unlike traditional BB Creams this has a medium coverage that smooths over most imperfections and leaves you with a beautiful complexion. The staying power isn’t too great on me but I do get a decent 6 hours of wear-time. I don’t mind too much because it doesn’t get uneven, it just fades away. I like this for warm spring and summer days and times when I want to look fresh and awake, even if I’m not. A little cheating is allowed, right?

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid “Opal” (hier)

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine “09 Nude in Private” (hier)

Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter (hier)

MAC Sheertone Blush “Blushbaby” (hier)

Dior Diorskin Nude BB Cream (hier)

This design is steller! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your talent, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Excellent job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Thanks for your kind words Weston 🙂

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Many thanks!

Hi Colby! Aw that’s not good. I have no idea how to remove you from that list… Does the email say “unsubscribe” at the bottom?

LG

    • May 10, 2017 / 3:52 PM

Hi Hagen!

I have a powder highlight from Becca that I absolutely love! I want to try the liquid ones though; I think liquid highlighters can pack more of a punch sometimes.

Firstly I love the set up and the way to took pictures. As a blogger myself I know I how hard and time consuming it is to take such pics. Coming to beauty products I love the blush color and lipsticks you picked. Great for spring time. I am not a much of foundation person so bb cream could be something I can try

    • May 3, 2017 / 9:07 PM

Thank you Surekha, that really means a lot! I always try and take the best pictures possible with the small equipment I have. It’s nice when it is appreciated 🙂
The BB Cream is really light and dewy – perfect for when you don’t want anything heavy on your skin.

This are some great products, and love the shade of the lipstick xo

Alles Liebe Iris <3

    • May 3, 2017 / 8:45 PM
